{ Winx to Linx }

This has been a crazy few weeks, and like always I'm behind on what I'm doing. But I'm in need of sharing my awesome finds of late.

• Swissted is an ongoing project by graphic designer mike joyce, owner of stereotype design in new york city. Drawing from his love of punk rock and swiss modernism, two movements that have absolutely nothing to do with one another, mike has redesigned vintage punk, hardcore, and indie rock show flyers into international typographic style posters. And these are definitely worth the bookmark. These are real shows, and totally reminds me of some of my fave Frank Stella work, and probably needs me to print a few.
• I knew I wasn't the only one who was noticing handwritten letters, typically from editors, finding it's way all over the publishing world! and even on some of my fave blogs, A Beautiful Mess uses it all the time! Luckily Noteworthy put together a great list of brushes (free!) to download and try, I can't wait to get home and really try these out on my tablet! {via}
• The Creativity Post put together a really great list of 12 things you were never taught in school. I'm not normally a big fan reader of these sort of posts, but I found this one pretty inspiring for the new year and my new positive outlook. {via}
• Fourth Year Studio - a great letterpress company, and former architecture students with me, out of Knoxville is having a fund raiser for Baby Tyson (who is a heart baby of another fellow archy over at Vandy). You can check his inspiring story here. And as a new mother, I have no idea how I would be able to be half as strong as Tyson's mom, but they are so wonderful, and it's great to see how wonderful he has been doing, I'm somewhat addicting to checking his status, and hoping (since I'm not the praying type) he's continuing to do well {to purchase a calendar}.
• Best Movie Posters of 2011 - some definite eye candy in the mix. I'm in LOVE with the Eames one .. of course! also a brilliant documentary if you haven't seen it, it's a must. And I have a serious crush on Cam Archer's film, Shit Year. {via}
• Shrinking Kat - Kat, whom you might remember from previous post, is dieting like no other, and documenting her journey on the dukan diet, the one Kate Middleton supposedly lost all her pre-wedding weight on. I know it's a fad diet, but it seems like one I could get behind, with all these veggies and meats! If you want to follow and encourage Kat's success please click. {via}

{ World Cup Update + crocheting }

So the first game was a lil' sloppy and slow, but all and all a good showing from two pretty solid teams, Mexico and South Africa. Unfortunately it was just a draw (1 to 1), but I have found world cup time to be crocheting time too, atleast for the teams I'm not praying for (GOOOOOO ARGENTINA!). But the point of this post is to shout out to Kat for this INCREDIBLE website for knitters and crocheters, raverly. It's super cute and has TONs of good patterns and advice, for freez of course. Check it out if you are crafty!

Aren't You Jealous?

I'm goin to the Chattanooga Auction House this weekend...
and Hopefully I'll win those sweet green patio chairs or that modern (Nelson rip off) bench...

This Weekend...

sorry I've been lacking on all the awesomeness that is mizmargauxxx, but let's get started with this past weekend. First off, what a fun town Chattanooga is! I was not expecting much, but instead I saw a great band (at Jj's), met a new friend (Rodger somethin), drank alot of PBR, ate at the Vine Street Market, and got my art on! Kat's new place is in the cutest neighborhood, and really all of Chatt (the parts we hung in) were too cute! It made me jealous and sad that Knox wasn't planned as nicely on the river. Well here is a pic of the Mural I'm paintin up in Kat's new bedroom... Its my first in years!!! (try 8 - atleast back in highschool was the last night I seriously painted a wall! ha!) But it made me fall in love all over again! Get me outta architect and put a paint brush in my hand!!! well, this is the first one, but I think I'm gonna try to moonlight this a little bit, atleast see where it goes, so if you guys know anyone (willing to pay o.c.) let me know... thanks! and more pics as it progresses

Knoxville Fails stikes again...

So thanks to The Blaze, who now lives in the apartment complex I spent 3 of my glorious college years, for sending and taking this picture! Hooray for Country Oaks! Adoo and Kat, I am sure you will enjoy this too!

Who Stole the Sunshine?

So Sunday was warm, I mean really really warm. I went to the park and sweated! from the heat! not my activity. So today is what, you might ask? oh yeah, it's snowing...
I think Kat said it best...
